The Good Samaritan Institute was established to improve communication and collaboration among science educators. We want to stimulate love of science in students and educators. We want to enlighten, excite, and educate young minds using the most current interactive web-based technologies. Our easily accessible web tools will allow live demonstrations with interesting, engaging guest scientists.

Goals:

To provide professional development opportunities for K-12 teachers to improve preservice teacher education in the sciences.

To serve as a resource center in science education for teachers, students and science classrooms via the World Wide Web.

To foster partnerships with administrators, teachers and scientists to improve the quality of science education.

To encourage under-served populations to consider careers in science and science based technologies.

To promote cooperative efforts on the Good Samaritan Institute network, local and state educational agencies, and affiliated Research Centers to address state and national standards in the development and evaluation of curriculum resources for improved literacy in the sciences.
